Our list of contacts is continuouslly growing. One of Jamie’s friends in Tanzania contacted me:
Hello Joshua!
It is my hope that you are doing well. My name is Kanti A. Kimario, a friend to Jamie Howard. I am from Tanzania. I met Jamie as an ISL translator. I was a translator to her group of students who came in Tanzani specifically in Rombo last year. I was so glad to meet them, and in that case I am glad to have as my friends.
Jamie emailed me last week and informed me about you and your plan of coming to Tanzania. She is the one who sent me your email address and your website address. I have tried to check on your website and I can say just from the first impression, congratulations for the work you are doing. I think you have chosen the best place for making your complementary film. You are most welcome! I guess there are really many people who are in need of your help as long as it is genuine and supportive.
I found that you will be arriving in Tanzania on 1st May 2008. I say again you are most welcome and I am ready to offer you a kind of support that you might need from me and I will perfom or offer it as far as my capacity in concerned with sincere and joyful heart. But I will be free as from 9th May 2008 because I will be graduating from college on 7th May.
Otherwise, I wish you all the best as you prepare yourselves for the journey. You are most welcome in Tanzania. I dont want to exagerate things, you will observe everything on your own as soon as you land on this country. Hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
Kanti or Kim.
I was amazed at how warm and friendly his letter was, he has already made us feel welcome before ever setting foot on African soil. I was also pleased to hear he was eager to help, and am reminded how this movement is so much bigger than me or my group, and its awesome to find other people who are fighting on your side…..
